The BCM 200 is similar to the 50 in terms of its features, configuration and also the size of solution it is targeted at. The key differences being the number of IP users it can support 60 rather than 32 on the BCM 50 and also its ability to run the advanced call centre functionality and reporting.

Overview

This makes the 200 ideal for small IP systems and informal call centres, providing these at a lower cost to the BCM 400 but with less room for expansion.

Another key differentiator for the product is the voice mail, the 200 can support up to 32 simultaneous connections to the voicemail, compared to the 10 channels of connection for the BCM 50.  Therefore if you require a small system with a greater leaning towards voicemail and unified messaging, the BCM 50 may provide a cost effective option.

Improving Efficiency with Unified Messaging
Through the deployment of unified messaging, a simple per-user license on the BCM, users can enjoy the working efficiencies of email, voicemail and fax in their inbox. Also this allows users to forward and archive these communications in the same way they would their voicemails

Utilising IP at a Branch Offices

Like the rest of the BCM range the 200 can support a mix of IP and traditional users. This means that for remote sites such as small branch offices, IP telephony can be used to provide users with handsets without deploying another phone system. By utilising existing data infrastructure, IP telephony can make small remote sites very cost effective to bring into the network.

Key Reasons to Choose BCM

1.  Cost effectiveness - scaled for small sites the BCM comes pre-loaded with hundreds of features and a full suite of integrated applications. As your business grows and its needs evolve, you can activate more capabilities just by entering a key code. If you're not sure which applications are right for your business, Nortel makes it easy to decide by offering a 60-day free trial for most applications — from voice messaging to the latest CTI applications.

2.  Simple migration - the BCM range supports traditional telephony and IP, the migration path is simple allowing migration to IP as and when you are ready

3.  Applications - from the 50 to the 200 and 400, all BCMs are capable of deploying advanced applications such as unified messaging, fax to email, call centre and IP telephony.
